I’m writing this on the first day of September, so today is perfect to reflect on my favorite things that happened this month. If you have read any of my posts this month, a lot had happened, so many lows and highs. Through it all, I want to share what had helped me this month.

MEDIA

  • Scribd & Audible: I decided that I would put these two together because they are both audiobook apps. Some that I have listened to The Atlas Six, Among the Beasts & Briars which were the ones I enjoyed the most, whereas Creeping Beauty, fell flat and conflicting towards the end. I was hoping that the story would get better but felt disappointed.

  • Sunbeamjess: She has been making YouTube videos for over ten years, her most popular ones have been when she was in university studying and participating in Vlogtober. Now she talks about her recent reads and updates of her mental health and her family. Her videos have been motivating me when I am studying for my global marketing class.

  • Becoming Something: I prefer to watch the podcast on YouTube! Jonothan Pokluda is one of the hosts of this podcast, they discuss and invite topics and questions that aren’t often talked about. The hosts also invite guests to share their perspective, relationship, and experiences they’ve had with God. The Gift of Singleness episode has greatly helped me understand the season I’m in. I encourage you to listen to them as they provide insight from scripture and wisdom and their friendship is so wholesome to see/hear.

    COFFEE

  • 7th Inning Stretch Latte: This was a popular drink this month! It consisted of salted caramel and pure maple syrup. It was a dedication for a local baseball team as an ode to the end of summer. I made this latte hot and iced, if you follow me on Instagram, I had posted this latte on my stories a few times.

  • Lavender Cortado: For those who are unfamiliar with a cortado, it is a small drink- only four ounces, half of it being espresso, the other half being milk of your choice. This was great to have when I opened the shop and had a steady shift. I can finish it before a rush and feel the caffeine to get me through the morning. Also, it was kind of calming because of the lavender in it so to me it balances out; the espresso and lavender. In my head, I don’t feel anxious but have the energy I need!

  • Moka pot: I Love using this! It’s like a ritual to the morning, making a coffee manually versus using a k-cup or a Nespresso machine. While the Moka pot percolates, I can read the verse of the day or listen to some worship music. I recently bought a new mug and a bag of pumpkin spice coffee grounds, and it’s been perfect to have on my day off and slow down before starting the day.

    verses

  • Ephesians 3:20 TPT

  • Proverbs 12:20 TPT

  • Psalms 37:5-6 NIV

These verses all share a similar theme for me, believing. If you have confidence to trust in what God can do for you, any other scenario won’t match up to the future He has for you. Plan for Peace and it will give you joy.

MUSIC

  • Stick Season (We’ll All Be Here Forever) - Noah Kahan: This record has been a favorite to listen to while driving. My favorite songs I like change, but New Perspective is catchy and find myself going back to this song.

  • The best fall playlist self-explanatory. All of these artists added here make this playlist perfect.

  • Autumn Tunes This is a playlist I’ve made a few years ago, I think. It includes my favorite jazz songs that encapsulate the feeling of the best season. With themes of love, nature, and some spooky songs that welcome the festivities of October. I play this one every year!

Now you are all caught up with what has kept me entertained and grounded me this month. Feel free to comment on my instagram what your favorite things have been this month! I can’t wait to hear from you! September couldn’t come sooner enough! Goodbye summer, I am welcoming this new month with open arms!

keep pouring,

Khalie x
